BASSEL SAROUFIM IS A DESIGNER, MAKER AND
dreamer, with a lifelong passion for movie worlds and chronicling human endeavour in cinema. His unending goal is to take an audience on an immersive, true experience.
He has worked on movies directed by George Miller and Will Gluck, and with production designers such as Roger Ford and Jen Waters.
HE ORIGINALLY STUDIED ARCHITECTURE AND
continues to work in architectural design, conceptualising buildings with deep spatial experiences and beautiful, evocative interiors.
He approaches architectural design and film design in a similar way, seeking to elevate a space into another realm and transport a person's physical and mental experience.
BASSEL ALSO TEACHES DESIGN AND MODEL-MAKING
at various universities, allowing him to constantly develop his creativity and design communication. He teaches filmmaking and design media at UNSW and model-making workshops at AFTRS.
